I had reTIRED 31DEC2017, and planned to finish biketouring the World. During the following two months (January-February 2019), I had biketoured 1-country/2-states on my Doublevision; I did not know how weak my body was becoming as I continued to “age out”—and I fell just west of TerlinguaTX on FM170. When I returned to my home in El PasoTX ( courtesy of my wife, who picked me/Doublevision up in AlpineTX,”), I started biketouring the “International Ft. Hancock I-10 Bicycle Bypass” and was shocked and confused that a full day cycling resulted in HALF (25miles/40kms) my usual distance (50-100miles/80-160kms)!
In fact, it wasn’t until I joined a weeklong biketour in Sri Lanka with Grasshopper Adventures nine months later (3rd week, February 2019) that gave me the answer. I was already struggling up the smallest inclines, so when I was offered an e-bike for a slightly increased amount, I seized upon any extra help. From the moment I sat on the Trek 80, I knew the solution: I needed an eMotor to help me!
After researching, (with Jason’s help) I had purchased my first Direct Drive ebikekit eSystem (48V20A) 26 x 1.5 during April 2019 to upgrade my new CruzBike S40. After 3-years/2-countries/8-states/15,000+miles/ numerous customizations, I simply wore the CruzBike out—but NOT the ebikekit system.
The only parts of the ebikekit system that I have worn out are the usual parts that wear over time with constant use: eBatteries, spokes, motor, chains.
Some other elements, such as the thumb throttle, which simply eroded down to a smooth stub. Using my electric drill, smaller bits, poprivets, non-electrical lubricant, I’ve been able to create a much more durable throttle.
I do NOT use the pedal assist feature because I tend to rely on full power most of the time when cycling. [As a 70-year old senior, my quads have “aged out”, and I need all the help I can get!]
I am EXTREMELY PLEASED with my heavy-duty, 48V20A Direct Drive 26 x 1.5 eSystem. It has served me amazingly well for over 30,000 miles/48,000kms/7+years. I strongly endorse every senior cyclist to add an eBikeKit.com to their bikes/trykes. The upgrade will make it possible for you to stay cycling, just as it has me‼️

The product is the wrong size and needs to ev sent back, and return. The correct size order in the purchase plan was not followed.
Super easy to install! Seems like it kicks in the motor a little quicker than the magnet wheel system, which also was difficult to keep centered. This sensor works flawlessly! Love it
This was the one with the largest opening I could find. My axle is 16 mm and this to is 14.5. I had to grind on it a bit to get it to fit. With that said, this is perfect for typical hub motors and regular bike hubs.
Great value item, I spliced it into the battery cable, and it has a more robust feel to it than the original connector.
Great assistance and quick shipping. Bottle neck at USPS customs for shipment to Canada but that's not your fault.

First eposure to e bike components but been around bikes for decades. Expectations met and exceeded! Install was smooth, finally got it how I want it after a few tweaks. Cable management was challenging. Very impressed with the connectors used for wiring - color coded and weather-resistant. Plenty of power to haul this 188 lb. rider. Worth the investment!
I wasn’t very convinced that the rescue pack was going to be the solution to the problems I was having with my Catrike Expedition. I ordered the Tri-classic rescue pack because I couldn’t find another solution. it arrived in a few days and it was immediately clear that the folks at E-BikeKit put a lot of thought into the contents of the kit. By Only replacing the controller and thumb throttle I was able to resolve what had appeared to be a complex set of symptoms. The assist system is working perfectly now. I returned the other three parts and I am extremely happy with how the process turned out. Thanks very much!
