Heavy-Duty Conversion Kit for Tandem Bicycles

The E-BikeKit™ Heavy-Duty Tandem Conversion Kit is designed specifically for applications that exceed the limits of standard geared motor systems. This kit uses a rear direct-drive hub motor, chosen for its strength, simplicity, and ability to handle sustained loads without internal wear.

Direct-drive motors are ideal for tandems, cargo bikes, and other heavy-duty builds because they have no internal gears or clutches, resulting in excellent durability and long service life under load.

Who is this kit for? This system is recommended for any application where the total load (bike + riders + cargo) is 300 lbs or more. It delivers smooth, predictable power with a 20 mph top speed when paired with a 48V battery.

This kit uses a 48V lithium-ion battery. The standard battery configuration is designed to mount on the downtube using water-bottle bosses.

No dedicated battery mounting kit is included with this conversion. If you prefer not to mount the battery on the downtube, or if your tandem setup requires rear placement, a rear rack solution can be used.
