E-BikeKit Rear 500w Geared Hub Motor Conversion Kit for Fatbikes with 48v Li-ion Battery Pack and Charger.
The E-BikeKit 500-1000w geared conversion kit is powered by an internal 5:1 planetary gear hub motor with a clutch. The clutch in the geared motor offers zero drag when pedaling and not engaging battery power. This motor is more efficient, resulting in increased range (especially with "start/stop" riding), has more starting torque, and has greater hill-climbing ability than a direct-drive motor of equal power rating. The motor is also smaller in diameter for increased stealth and 3.4 lbs. lighter than the 500w direct-drive.
Dropout Spacing: This hub is spaced to 170mm w/ 15mm disc-offset for Fatbike rear wheels. We can also space it to 190mm for use without a disc brake. If you have a bike that uses a rear disc brake and 190mm spacing, we can include disc rotor shims and screws to help line the disc up for 15mm disc offset.
Who's it for? This premium electric bike conversion kit system is for those that want the best of the best in performance, efficiency, weight, stealth, and speed. The top speed is 28 mph! There is a 300 lbs total load limit so if you plan on more than that, look to a heavy-duty system.
This kit uses a motor designed especially for fat bikes. It provides 170 - 190mm OLD rear spacing (using spacer-washers) and 15mm disc-offset (170mm) - add 10mm disc rotor spacer (not included) and extra-long screws for 15mm disc-offset with 190mm.
Chainline is 64mm. Add our freewheel spacer for a 75mm chain line.

Lithium batteries provide a high level of performance for the duration of each discharge (unlike seal lead-acid where performance is diminished 1:1 as the pack is emptied). Lithium batteries have a much higher power to weight ratio than lead-acid and 5-8 times the number of charge cycles (how many times a rechargeable battery can be charged from 0-100%). The lithium option costs more initially, but over time, the "cost-per-cycle" is about half the cost of lead-acid. Lithium packs also require less care as they can be left partially charged, and do not require immediate charging after each use. All batteries MUST be properly cared for during storage.
Choosing Your Wheel Size: Available size options for this conversion kit are 20", and 26". You can find your wheel size written on the sidewall of the tire. The 20" rim is 54mm wide and the 26" rim is 74mm wide. These rims are suitable for 3" - 4" width tires.
Battery Choice: We offer 3 battery packs for this kit - the 9Ah li-ion blue battery is the lightest and smallest, at just 5.8 lbs. The 20Ah li-ion blue battery is the longest-lasting, with a 20-44 mile range. The 10Ah li-ion aluminum case battery sports a rugged enclosure, carrying handle, and locks in place with a key.

This e-bike battery is a lightweight and easy to carry pack. Two of these packs will fit into one canvas battery bag (included) nicely, offering the option of taking one or two of these depending on your range needs. You do have to connect them one at a time as needed; same for charging.
** It is common to carry two 48v 9Ah batteries in the same canvas bag in order to double your range. However, these batteries can not be used in parallel with one another. In other words, you would have to physically unplug one, in order to use the other. **
48v 10Ah w/ 2-Tier Rack 48v 10Ah w/ 2-Tier Rack

This li-ion e-bike battery offers a nice finished look plus a locking mechanism for securing the battery in the middle section of an included 2-tiered rack. The top of the rack remains clear and available.
48v 20Ah Bag Battery

This e-bike battery is the largest capacity, longest range e-bike battery we offer. This pack weighs 14 lbs and comes in our canvas battery bag with velcro straps for securing it to the top of a conventional rear rack (not included).
Front vs. Rear Wheel: We recommend rears for most conversions. A common misconception is that front wheel conversion is easier. It is our professional opinion that there are two legitimate reasons to use a front hub motor:
1) You want true two-wheeled drive
2) You have an internal rear hub shifter
If neither applies to your conversion, a rear-wheel conversion is likely a better choice.
