Convert Your TerraTrike to Electric
The E-BikeKit™ TerraTrike Conversion Kit includes specialized components selected to integrate with TerraTrike recumbent platforms. Due to the wide variety of TerraTrike frame designs, careful configuration is important for best results.
Important compatibility note: This kit is not compatible with TerraTrike Rover models or other trikes equipped with internal gear hubs (IGH).
The system is powered by a rear 500W internally geared hub motor featuring a 5:1 planetary gear reduction and internal clutch. This design provides strong starting torque, efficient power delivery, and zero drag when pedaling without power.
Compared to a direct-drive motor, the geared motor is lighter, more efficient, and better suited to stop-and-go riding, helping extend range while maintaining a compact, discreet appearance.
Who is this kit for? This system is ideal for riders who want high efficiency, lighter weight, and higher cruising speeds on compatible TerraTrike models. The total system load limit is 300 lbs. Riders exceeding this should consider a heavy-duty system instead.

Battery & Mounting Information
No battery mounting system is included or assumed with this conversion kit. TerraTrike frames vary significantly in tubing shape, seat configuration, and available mounting points.
If you are considering this kit, we strongly recommend contacting us before ordering and sharing details (and photos, if possible) of your trike so we can recommend a suitable battery mounting solution.
If your TerraTrike already has a rear rack, a common and flexible option is our Canvas Battery Bag , which straps securely to a conventional rack and accommodates standard E-BikeKit batteries.
