Convert Your Sun Eco-Tad SX to Electric
The E-BikeKit™ Eco-Tad SX Conversion Kit is designed to integrate cleanly with the Eco-Tad’s tadpole layout and direct-steering geometry, preserving the trike’s stable handling while adding smooth electric assist.
Power comes from a rear 500W internally geared hub motor featuring a 5:1 planetary gear reduction and internal clutch. This design delivers strong low-speed torque, excellent hill-climbing ability, and zero drag when pedaling without power.
Compared to a direct-drive motor, the geared motor is lighter, more efficient, and better suited to stop-and-go riding, helping extend range while maintaining a compact, discreet appearance.
Who is this kit for? This system is ideal for riders who want high efficiency, lighter weight, and smooth performance on a tadpole-style recumbent trike. The total system load limit is 300 lbs. Riders exceeding this should consider a heavy-duty system instead.
Optional battery mounting kit: When selected, this kit includes the battery mounting plate and all required hardware to securely mount the battery in the position shown in the product photos. This provides proper weight distribution and a clean, finished installation.
