A purpose-built electric conversion system engineered specifically for the Sun Baja Trike. The system adds smooth electric assist while preserving the Baja's upright trike layout, rear axle, and drivetrain.

Baja Trike Electric Conversion System – 48V 15Ah Battery

The current-generation E-BikeKit™ Baja Trike Conversion System uses the latest SINET™ platform with a 500W nominal front hub motor, integrated sine-wave controller, full-color LCD, throttle-on-demand, locking e-brake levers, and your choice of cadence or torque-sensing pedal assist.

The motor is built into a USA hand-built 24" fat-tire front wheel configured specifically for the Baja. Because the conversion is front-wheel drive, the trike's existing rear axle and drivetrain remain unchanged.

The included 48V 15Ah lithium-ion battery slides into the SINET™ battery/controller cradle. Baja-specific mounting hardware positions the cradle securely behind the rear basket, using the supplied support structure and mounting plate while preserving normal basket use.

A Topeak handlebar extender is included to provide a practical mounting location for the SINET™ LCD on the Baja's cockpit.

Your pedal-assist selection determines the additional components included:

• Cadence Sensor: External cadence sensor and magnet disc for straightforward pedal-assist operation
• Torque Sensor + Crank Conversion Kit: SINET™ 68 mm square-taper bottom bracket torque sensor, bottom bracket adapter, three-piece cranks, pedals, and required SINET™ extension cable

Cadence Sensor

The cadence sensor detects crank rotation and activates pedal assistance according to the assist level selected on the LCD. This is the simpler installation option and is recommended for most DIY Baja conversions.

Torque Sensor + Crank Conversion Kit

The Baja uses a one-piece crank configuration that is not directly compatible with the SINET™ 68 mm square-taper bottom bracket torque sensor. Selecting the Torque Sensor + Crank Conversion Kit provides the additional components required to convert a compatible Baja bottom bracket to a three-piece crank configuration and install the SINET™ torque sensor.

Behind-the-Basket Mount: The Baja system includes a dedicated support structure and mounting plate that positions the SINET™ battery/controller cradle behind the rear basket. The cradle is fastened to the supplied plate, creating a secure mounting location while preserving normal basket use.

No separate universal battery mount is required when using the supplied Baja-specific mounting hardware as intended.

This conversion system is configured specifically for the Sun Baja Trike. The supplied wheel, display-mounting solution, battery mounting hardware, and conversion components are selected around the Baja platform.

Before ordering, confirm:

• You have the compatible Sun Baja Trike configuration
• The front fork and dropouts are in safe operating condition
• The rear basket area is available for the supplied battery mounting system
• You select the pedal-assist option appropriate for your installation ability

If you are unsure whether your Baja configuration is compatible, contact E-BikeKit before ordering.

This is a model-specific conversion system, but installation still requires mechanical bicycle work and proper electrical-component mounting and routing.

• Install the Baja-specific motor wheel into the front fork
• Install the supplied torque arm(s) and properly secure axle hardware
• Install the Baja-specific behind-the-basket battery support and mounting plate
• Secure the SINET™ battery/controller cradle to the mounting plate
• Install the 48V 15Ah battery into the cradle
• Install the Topeak handlebar extender and SINET™ LCD
• Install the thumb throttle and locking e-brake levers
• Install the selected pedal-assist system
• Route all wiring away from steering components, tires, chain, and other moving parts
• Verify brake cutoffs, throttle operation, pedal assist, wheel clearance, steering movement, and display settings before riding

If you select the Torque Sensor + Crank Conversion Kit: installation additionally requires removal of the original one-piece crank, installation of the bottom bracket adapter and torque sensor, drilling the required 3/8-inch cable-routing hole, routing and protecting the torque-sensor cable, and installation of the supplied three-piece cranks and pedals.

Professional bicycle-shop installation is recommended if you are not experienced with cranksets, bottom brackets, hub-motor wheels, battery mounting, and electric conversion systems.

Battery shipping: Lithium-ion batteries ship separately via FedEx Hazmat and may require a delivery signature. It is normal for the conversion system, battery, charger, or mounting components to arrive in multiple shipments or on different days.
