Geared 500w Motor Identification

We have used 2 different motor castings for 500w geared motor hub shells.

These motors are cross-compatible in every way except the spoke lengths used for wheel building. Please make sure you know which you have before ordering spare spokes.

Used before mid-June 2017, after October 2017 and discontinued January 2018:

165mm hub-flange diameter "GRD-500w-Original"

Use these spokes: GRD-500-Original

From mid-June 2017 to October 2017 and after January 2018:

155mm hub-flange diameter "Geared-500w-Small" 

Use these spokes: GRD-500w-Small

These motors use different spoke lengths because of their different hub shell flange diameters. Please double-check which motor you have before ordering spare spokes!
